It can be difficult to judge what it would actually be like to go to a particular university. This resource provides a range of information including ‘insider’ articles and videos from university staff and students, current and past. | Online mentoring pioneers, horsesmouth, provide icould users with the opportunity to find a mentor and get guidance and support on the big ‘issues’, including their career. Life is full of situations when we think ‘if only I could learn how others have managed this situation.’ On icould, users can watch and listen to others; on horsesmouth they can talk to a range of people who will give them their ‘take’ on an issue based on their own experiences. | An alternative ideas portal, notgoingtouni.com describes itself as ‘Non-graduate UCAS’ This new website looks at the potential opportunities for icould users who want to explore career options other than going to university. | A practical confidence builder for young people and based on the work by Karl Jung, The BUZZ questionnaire provides some introductory insights into their personal preferences and how these might relate to their career choices. Having completed the questionnaire, users are to use their own BUZZ profile as an alternative way of searching the icould stories | The national cinema chain is profiling icould films in their foyers and our icould trailer on screen. They will also be showing the icould stories of their own employees throughout October, in 69 cinemas across the UK. | Vitae, in collaboration with icould, has undertaken a pilot project to produce around 20 films of the career stories of people with a research background, currently working within and outside HE and from a variety of backgrounds, disciplines and levels.
