Careers Wales provides free, bilingual, impartial careers information, advice and guidance for all ages – bringing education and business together.
Careers Wales have been keen to add video content in English onto their platform, and as a result have developed a partnership with icould. The Careers Wales team have taken icould’s API and successfully created a seamless section in the new Careers Wales website, showcasing a selection of icould videos.
Sally Sudworth - Marketing Sector Director
Sally Sudworth is a Market Sector Director, a senior engineering position, at Halcrow. She has had to overcome discrimination to get where she is. She wanted her job back after starting a family. "I was only able to secure a temporary contract, because they weren't convinced really that, as a working Mum, somebody who'd been out of the scene for two years, was going to be able to do the job. And whilst at the same time a man was interviewed, he wasn't Chartered, but he got the permanent position." She did get a permanent job back in before long, and next year she will be Chair of the Institution of Civil Engineers in Wales Committee, which will give her a chance to show that women can achieve senior positions in engineering.

James Malarkey - Rope Access Trainee
James Malarkey is a Rope Access Trainee at Plas y Brenin Mountain Centre. His family all have office jobs, but that wouldn't suit him - "I'm the black sheep of the family, totally." He's quite comfortable hanging on ropes and dealing with heights, so he plans to work up ropes and earn more money than if he was on the ground.
